What a difference a year makes – or in our case, three. It was about that long from the first meeting we had to begin work on developing heart. Here we are, one year since releasing our inaugural edition.
Throughout this past year, we’ve fielded your calls and e-mails letting us know we’re on target, and even a few to let us know we might have been off base at times. It was clear from the beginning we weren’t going to please every reader, but we were certainly going to try and reach every reader. Every woman has a story, and there hasn’t been a day I’ve sat at this desk that I haven’t met someone whose life has been affected by loss, adversity, or, ultimately, success...some of them I work with on a daily basis.
At this one-year mark, let me just simply say thanks. Thank you to all the wonderful women who put their lives in the pages of this magazine. Thank you, dear reader, for spending your precious time reading our words. Thank you to the organizations who have allowed us to use their places of business as a backdrop for gorgeous photography, like Providence Memorial Hospital, which was inadvertently overlooked in our edition featuring Stephanie Dodson, whose loving arms have nurtured more than 100 babies as they transitioned from troubled past to promising future. Like those tender, young souls, never has our future looked so bright.
